台北獲得2011年世界設計大會主辦權
台北的第1次．亞洲的第1次．全球設計界的第1次 經過長期的努力，歷經1年多的申辦過程，台灣終於從全球19個強勁對手中脫穎而出，獲得國際設計聯盟(International Design Alliance, IDA )全體評審代表的支持，擊敗了最後的競爭對手澳洲墨爾本(Melbourne)，獲得2011年世界設計大會主辦權。
Taipei to Hold 2011 IDA Congress
After a long term effort in seeking the right to hold the said congress and undergoing a process of application for more than a year, Taiwan finally came
out the winner from 19 strong competitors all over the world. Supported by
judges of International Design Alliance (IDA), Taiwan had defeated its last
competitor, Melbourne of Australia, to win the right to host the said congress.
這是台北的第1次，也是全亞洲的第1次
世界設計聯合大會，是全球歷史最悠久也是最具權威性的國際設計活動。這是一個每6年舉辦1次，並結合平面、工業及室內設計等3項設計領域的設計盛宴，亦可說是設計界的奧運會。在過去，這項國際設計盛事只選在歐洲國家舉行。同時，這也是該項全球最重量級的活動首次移師亞洲，並選擇在台北舉辦。
This is Taipei’s First and Also Asia’s First
The 2011 IDA Congress is the most long-lasting and authoritative internationaldesign event of the world. It is a big design feast held every six years and
covers three design disciplines of graphic design, industrial design, and interior
design. Actually it is Olympics of design circles.Previously it was held only in
European countries so this would be the first time this big event is
to be held in Asia, and in particular, Taipei.
2011年世界設計大會也是全球設計界的第1次
在國際設計組織中，過去是由國際工業設計社團協會(Icsid，The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design)、國際平面設計社團協會(Icograda，The International Council of Graphic Design)與國際室內建築師設計師團體連盟(IFI，The International Federation of Interior Architects/ Designers)等3個設計組織在國際設計界中三雄鼎立，為了因應全球化及未來跨設計領域的潮流，Icsid、Icograda及IFI也將共組國際設計聯盟(International Design Alliance，IDA )，2011年世界設計大會也會是全球平面、工業及室內設計三大領域整合為國際設計聯盟(IDA)後首次的世界設計大會，在世界設計史上具有里程碑的意義。
The Congress Would Also Be the First Time for Global Design Circles
Among international design organizations, the three heavyweights, namely,
the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid),
the International Council of Graphic Design (Icograda), and
The International Federation of Interior Architects/ Designers (IFI),
are with the same prowess in international design circles. In order to meet
the trends of globalization and future cross-field design development, Icsid,
Icograda, and IFI have jointly established International Design Alliance (IDA).
The 2011 IDA World Congress will be the first world design congress to be held
after the establishment of IDA, a milestone in the history of global design.
